Affiliate Disclosure
Effective date: April 19, 2026
VPNStreamGuide.com is an independent VPN and streaming review site supported by affiliate commissions. This page explains exactly how that works so you can evaluate our reviews with full context. This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 guidelines on endorsements and testimonials.
How We Make Money
When you click a link on this site and purchase a VPN subscription from the provider we linked to, we may receive a commission from that provider. This commission comes from the provider's marketing budget — it is not added to your price and does not cost you anything extra. Many providers also extend discounts and free-trial periods that are the same or better than what is available through direct visits.
Which Providers We Have Affiliate Relationships With
We maintain, or have applied to maintain, affiliate relationships with the following VPN and privacy providers. If you see their product recommended on this site, assume we have a financial interest in referring you:
- NordVPN
- Proton VPN (via partner.proton.me, affiliate ID 17190)
- Surfshark (application pending)
- ExpressVPN (application not currently active)
We periodically apply to additional VPN and privacy programs. This list will be updated when new relationships are active.
How This Affects Our Reviews
Commission rates do not determine our rankings. We assess VPNs on objective performance criteria — streaming reliability across platforms like Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Disney+, and Hulu; real-world speed tests; server coverage; logging policies and independent audit history; app quality on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and router firmware; kill-switch and DNS-leak protection; and price-to-value ratio.
Where two providers deliver similar results in a given category, we note both and let the reader choose. Where we have material criticism of a provider we hold an affiliate relationship with, we publish the criticism anyway. Several of our comparison pages rank paid products above products whose affiliate programs we would find easier to monetize, because rankings are based on testing outcomes rather than commission economics.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not accept payment to publish positive reviews, adjust rankings, or remove negative findings.
- We do not publish paid or sponsored reviews disguised as editorial content.
- We do not receive free product or lifetime subscriptions in exchange for favorable treatment. Trial accounts used for testing are typically paid for at regular consumer pricing.
- We do not embed tracking that identifies individual readers. See our Privacy Policy for details on analytics.
Link Formatting
Affiliate links on this site open in a new tab and carry the rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" attribute so they do not pass on ranking signals and so the destination site cannot read the referring URL. Non-affiliate informational links to official provider documentation, privacy audits, or third-party tests carry only rel="nofollow".
Amazon Associates Notice
Where we recommend physical products (such as routers, hardware wallets, or streaming devices) in our guides, we may use Amazon Associates links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to the reader.
Your Choice
You are never obligated to use our affiliate links. If you prefer to buy directly, navigate to the provider's website manually — you will receive the same public pricing. We appreciate it when readers choose to use our links, since that is what keeps this site online and free to use, but it is always your choice.
